Nick Mercer
Nick Mercer is passionate about helping firms maximise their impact in business and their customer focus.
Nick Mercer I have spent the last year running Midas Systems, which provides a management system for UK colleges to run their learning support for students over the age of 16, who have additional learning needs.
I have also been a management consultant; for 15 Years I was COO of a large law firm in London - MAB LLP; and before that I was an army officer for 23 years.
In the army, I ended up as the Army's "Ombudsman". I was also their "Adman" in charge of all recruitment advertising, market research and corporate communications.
I had the privilege of commanding 52 (Niagara) Battery Royal Artillery on training and operations; as fine a bunch of Yorkshiremen as you could ever meet!
I am a graduate of Durham University, The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and the Army Staff College Camberley.
I am a PRINCE2 Practitioner and a devotee of the Boss Whisperer John Donnelly.

Midas Systems is the leading supplier of learning support management solutions in post-16 education. Their products, training and user support are designed primarily for further and adult education colleges to manage additional support to learners who have a disability, learning difficulty, language or other learning support need. The company has been trading for 20 years, helping those with sight, hearing, dyslexia and all sorts of other challenges to learning, that require dedicated help, funding and monitoring in FE colleges. Midas Systems help colleges to do this with minimal fuss; to navigate the funding labyrinth and to provide comprehensive outcome and performance data for Ofsted inspection and audit. Our systems are used by FE colleges, in Higher Education, for apprenticeships, and by training providers. We have over 3000 end users and 80% of all the FE colleges in England use our systems. My role is to improve the management of the company with a view to external investment and to expand into parallel education and training markets in the rest of UK and abroad.
